Last Sunday, the 32nd edition of the Amnesty International Cross “Run for Human Rights” took place in Valbonne Sophia Antipolis.
This sporting event is associated with a movement of solidarity and support for 10 victims of human rights violations as part of Amnesty’s international campaign “10 Days to Sign” (freedom of expression, discrimination, death penalty, torture, etc., are denounced).
Once again, it successfully combined the sporting values of the running events and the humanistic values of Amnesty International, with more than 1,200 petition signatures.
On the sports side, 337 runners took part in a very good atmosphere, enhanced by the percussion group Perkupassions, which prevailed at the Bermond Farm site, the location of the starts and finishes.
The success of the event was made possible by more than 80 volunteers, members or supporters of Amnesty International, notably members of the “old friends” group who have always been faithful, some for years, and new recruits like students from Polytech Nice Sophia and CIV, who were very active, motivated, and committed.
