The 40-meter Way (dedicated to Simone Veil) will be the mainstay of mobility in the Eco-valley.

As part of the development of the Eco-Vallรฉe operation, and due to the Euro 2016 specifications, a parallel road to the Mercantour Boulevard had been planned to allow for smoother traffic flow and to provide the new buildings under construction with suitable access.

This was accomplished by the end of last week with the inauguration of what was technically called the โ€œ40-meter road,โ€ which will be renamed after Simone Veil, extending from a first section that already bears the name of the illustrious figure.

This axis, which will connect the Moulins district to the Allianz Riviera Stadium and the Saint-Isidore district, will also be the site for the future line 3 of the tramway.

The total cost of this investment is 79 million euros.

Ever enthusiastic, Nice’s mayor and president of the Mรฉtropole, Christian Estrosi, was swept away: “Since 1936 and the opening of Saint-Roch Boulevard, Nice had not granted itself such a beautiful, clean, and well-thought-out tool of harmony and utility. So yes, this is indeed the return of Nice’s urban tradition, of ordered, useful, and harmonious growth that gives our city a unique character, respectful of its past and admired by the UNESCO committee tasked with examining our candidacy for World Heritage status.”

To call a road… a work of art!

Moreover, in his speech, didnโ€™t the official describe the Allianz Riviera as โ€œour 21st century Colosseumโ€?

So from hyperbole to hyperbole…
