The Economic Kitchen, chaired by Gérard Forcheri and directed by Sister Anne-Marie Fumagalli, was established in 1906 by a member of the St Vincent de Paul society in order to “Provide, without any discrimination, free or for a very modest contribution, meals to people with no resources or with very limited resources.”

This charitable organization, with the help of its 52 volunteers, distributed 28,000 meals in 2018 to people in need, which means between 150 to 180 meals per day.

On this occasion, Monseigneur André Marceau awarded the diocesan gold medal of merit to Sister Anne-Marie and Sister Monique.
