The Ambassadors of Sport 06 featuring Charlotte Bonnet 2017: The young French Champions in the sports category 11/16 years were honored.
Through the Ambassadors of Sport 06, an initiative launched in 2013, the Alpes-Maritimes Department encourages and congratulates young athletes from the Azure region who are destined for a bright sporting future.
Following the Alain Bernard (2014), Victoria Ravva (2015), and Jean-Pierre Dick (2016) editions, Charlotte Bonnet is the patron of this fourth edition.
A French swimmer with an impressive track record, Charlotte joined the Olympic Nice Natation (ONN) in 2010, where she has been coached by Fabrice Pellerin since.
For this fourth edition, 131 young athletes were elevated to the rank of Ambassadors of Sport of the Alpes-Maritimes thanks to their performances throughout 2016 and their titles as French Champions, obtained individually or in teams.
This promotion is slightly more feminine, with 69 girls and 62 boys aged 11 to 16 years practicing 24 different disciplines across 21 sports federations.*
In total, these 131 young athletes won 148 French Championship titles, representing 39 clubs, 2 colleges under the UNSS (National Union of School Sports), 2 selections in the departmental committee (Gymnastics and Handball), and 2 selections for Ligues Côte d’Azur (Volleyball and Archery).
In this brilliant promotion, we find some “regulars”: 4 Sport 06 Ambassadors who achieved the extraordinary feat of achieving a quadruple (being present in all 4 consecutive editions) and 4 who managed a triple.
Finally, we cannot fail to highlight the incredible achievement of young Leyth AGOUN, who won 14 French Championship titles in 2016 in various diving events. The next generation at the ONN is already assured.
