The 5th edition of the Prom’ Record Day lived up to all its promises.

Latest News

Organized by Nice Côte d’Azur Athlétisme, the Côte d’Azur event returned this year with a multitude of new features. This 2023 edition did not disappoint. In fact, it left a lasting impression.
On this beautiful autumn morning, many athletes came to take over the Promenade des Anglais to tackle no less than five events: from the now iconic “Ma Belle Prom’” to the Daily Mile and the Relay 2024, the spectators were as thrilled as the participants who thoroughly enjoyed challenging themselves. From the youngest to the oldest, from seasoned athletes to beginners, the atmosphere was both competitive and friendly.
Perhaps it’s because the Nice Côte d’Azur Athlétisme, expertly directed by double World Champion in the 400m hurdles Stéphane Diagana, managed to set everyone up in optimal conditions. Undoubtedly helped by the sun overlooking the pebbles beneath the Promenade: “The conditions were perfect,” commented Raphaël Montoya after finishing a 5km in 14’52 (NCAA).

Guests, records, and innovation

In addition to the relay changing from 4 to 3 racers, the charity walk in support of the Ligue Contre le Cancer, and “Ma Belle Prom’” which gave participating companies’ runner-employees a chance to win a spot in the “Marathon Pour Tous Paris 2024”, young runners of the Mile des Anglais and the Daily Mile Inéos were able to meet top-level athletes to their utmost delight: four former Olympians including Marc Raquil, Aldo Canti, Odile and Stéphane Diagana, along with Makenson Gletty, a NCAA member currently preparing for the 2024 Olympics.
Former players of OGC Nice were also around. Jérémy Pied and Romain Genevois finished second in the Caisse d’Epargne Côte d’Azur relay event and seemed to still be in good shape. Among other performances, Saïd Kaddour once again won the 5km in 14’17. This race was highly competitive as 6 athletes crossed the finish line in less than 15 minutes. Jean Bernard Grondin took the opportunity to break the French Master 5 record for the distance in 16’13, while Emilie Romanet brilliantly claimed victory among the women with a time of 18’07. For the Paris Olympics marathon, Isaïa Group won the reward through a much-desired lottery. All results: promrecordday.fr

An edition focused on eco-responsibility

This was the goal of the 5th edition, and it can safely be said that it was a resounding success: with almost no plastic, dry toilets, and minimal paper usage, waste was substantially reduced and was further collected throughout the route by participants of the Charity Walk (in partnership with Nice Plogging), all proceeds of which were donated to the Ligue Contre le Cancer. Moreover, the event enlisted the help of a hundred volunteers, who worked throughout the weekend to provide all participants with a meticulously organized event. Undoubtedly, Prom’ Record Day has not had its last word.
