On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Nice Section of the League of Human Rights is organizing a symposium titled “What Future for Human Rights?” on Saturday, November 22, 2008.
Program:
9:30 AM: Opening of the symposium
9:45 AM: Presentation by Stéphane Hessel, French ambassador and co-drafter with René Cassin of the Universal Declaration, followed by a debate.
11:00 AM: “Universal Rights, a Challenge for Tomorrow” by Jean-Pierre Dubois, national president of the League of Human Rights, professor of Public Law at Paris XI, followed by a debate.
2:30 PM: “Europe, Migrants, and Human Rights” by Danièle Lochak, vice-president of the LDH, professor of Law at Paris X, followed by a debate.
3:45 PM: Presentation by Antoine Sfeir, Director of the Cahiers de l’Orient, followed by a debate.
5:30 PM: Closing of the symposium
