The smiles of satisfaction and relief were on everyone’s faces on Saturday in Saint-Martin-Vésubie, around the finish area of the Ultra Trail Côte d’Azur Mercantour.

Despite the uncertainties, the 6th edition of the Ultra-Trail® Côte d’Azur Mercantour took place normally at various distances (130 km, 70 km, 45 km, or 10 km) along the course in an exceptional setting, from the medieval village of Levens, located between sea and mountains, to the peaks of Mercantour.

It was anything but a given, which makes the organizers even more satisfied:
“We stuck together,” explains Mickaël Grouin, head of the organization. “The entire team found solutions. We put in place the appropriate health measures to ensure permissions were granted.”

More than 1,600 runners over the entire weekend were present, with the objective, for most of them, of pushing through their limits and achieving their dreams, and finishing their race!

On the sporting side, Germain Granger won the main event (130 km) in the men’s category in 17h 04′ 47″, while Katie Eschide won the women’s category in 19h 54′ 26″.
