The 8th In&Out Meetings promise to be “sparkling.”

Certainly!

11 days of festival in three cities*, here are the 8th In&Out Encounters, the Gay & Lesbian film festival organized by the Ouvreurs, which now extends to Cannes and Beaulieu-sur-Mer, an unmissable cinematic event focusing on sexual diversities.

Benoit Arnulf, the host and artistic director of this ship that sails with ease, sets the tone for this festival: โ€œAfter having questioned in 2015 the risks of marginalization for cultures that claim to be โ€˜gay and lesbian,โ€™ this year we wish to continue our reflection on the means of transmission of these same cultures, placing ourselves under Nietzschean auspices: The Twilight of the Idols.โ€

An explanation from him is necessary: โ€œThese idols, artists, filmmakers, authors, intellectuals, activists, are differently familiar to us, some suffering more than others, from the effects of time on our memories. Let us keep in mind that twilight primarily refers to the faint light that resists the onset of night and darkness.โ€

Other themes will enrich a program comprising around sixty films, including both feature films and shorts: a tribute to PAUL VECCHIALI with four films and a discussion led by MATHIEU ORLEAN, a specialist in his cinema; a focus on Mexican queer cinema to accompany the presence of PAVEL CORTES and, of course, a program more specifically dedicated to women (My Body, My Rules, 4.48 following in the footsteps of Sarah Kane, The Chambermaid Lynn, or Je, tu, il, elle).

And for the second year, In&Out offers an official competition with custom-made prizes, the โ€œEsperluettes.โ€
