As announced, the decree recognizing the state of natural disaster in the most affected communes will be presented to the Council of Ministers this Wednesday.
This decree will allow the victims whose properties are insured to be quickly compensated with the assistance of national solidarity, through the Central Reinsurance Fund.*
State Support for Local Authorities
The adverse weather events last weekend caused significant damage to the assets of local authorities, such as road infrastructures and civil engineering works, levees, water and sewage distribution networks, and sewage treatment plants…
To support the local authorities in the repair of these works, the State will mobilize the Fund for the Repair of Damage Caused to Local Authority Assets and Their Groups by Public Calamities within a period of 4 months.
Finally, the Minister has decided to immediately mobilize the emergency housing aid fund to support the financing by the local authorities of the rehousing of victims.
Support for Businesses
It is essential to facilitate the rapid resumption of economic activities and preserve jobs, by coordinating the efforts of public and private financiers and easing the procedures for users. The mobilization of specific measures for businesses will be at the local level.
Support for Agricultural Professionals
The agricultural disaster procedure will be triggered considering the losses of capital and crops caused by the adverse weather conditions.
