The dispute between the prefecture and the SDIS 06 (whose President, by the way, happens to be none other than the president of the General Council himself) has been resolved in favor of the Stateโs representative by the Administrative Court.
Without delving too much into the technical details, it is worth noting that the firefighters had unjustly reduced their working hours by a scheme that decreased annual shifts from 90 to 81, which consequently did not comply with legal regulations (35 hours per week or 1,607 hours per year).
With its judgment, the Administrative Court annulled the two resolutions of the board of directors of the departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS) of the Alpes-Maritimes from March 13 and July 11, 2014, contested by the State’s representative.
Will the firefighters, whose claims are supported by local public authorities, accept the judicial authority’s decision, or will they regroup as in the past when they locked horns with the Prefect, even demonstrating in public processions?
According to the Administrative Court, their claim was not legally founded.
