A good start to the day on the center court with the victory of Irina Ramialison (ranked 440 WTA) with a score of 6/1-7/6 against Argentine Tatiana Bua (ranked 443 WTA). Chloรฉ Paquet (ranked 647) was forced to retire due to a wrist injury after losing the first set 6/3 to German Anne Schaefer (ranked 226).
The French player Claire Feurstein (ranked 137) nearly created an upset against the tournament’s top seed, the Swiss player Romina Oprandi (ranked 52), but eventually lost 6/7-6/4-6/3.
A beautiful end to the day for Virginie Razzano (ranked 194 and former world No. 16) who, after two very competitive sets, won easily in the third set: 2/6-6/2-6/1 in her tournament debut.
