Due to the severe weather conditions that occurred last night in the Nice region, the Triathlon Distance M, which serves as the French Age Group Championships, the European Masters Games, and Open race, as well as the ETU Triathlon European Clubs Championships, have been canceled.
With all law enforcement forces being requisitioned, security cannot be ensured, and all races scheduled for this Sunday have been canceled.
Philippe Lescure, President of the French Triathlon Federation: “It is a huge disappointment for us and especially for the competitors who prepare for months to participate in a triathlon. We know that triathlon is an outdoor sport, and weather conditions prevail in all circumstances. The consequences of the last 24 hours of severe weather made it impossible to hold a triathlon.”
