The Agence 06 is part of a policy to support rural communes in the middle and upper regions that do not have sufficient resources to successfully carry out projects necessary for their development.*
This public administrative establishment (EPA) currently lists 115 rural communes eligible for legal and technical assistance.
After the first year of operation, Charles Ange Ginésy chaired the General Assembly of Agence 06, in the presence of Hervé Moreau, Director of Agence 06, and Florence Rosa, Operational Director of Agence 06. The occasion was used to present the results of the actions carried out.
To date, Agence 06 has already received 226 requests, and 130 cases are being processed.
The projects underway focus on:
- General interest and quality of life: creation of a school in Cipières, rehabilitation of a 1200 square meter building in Touët-de-l’Escarène.
- The renaissance of the valleys: reconstruction of the Heritage Museum in Saint-Martin-Vésubie, development of the banks of the Roya and the relocation of technical services in Breil.
- The “small towns of tomorrow” program in six winning towns of the department: Breil-sur-Roya, Puget-Théniers, Roquebillière, St-Vallier-de-Thiey, Sospel, and Tende.
Horizon 2022
The second year that Agence 06 is embarking on will be characterized by the execution of projects in the communes, such as the launch of reconstruction, rehabilitation, or renovation works, for example:
- Les Ferres: reconstruction of two endangered buildings in the village center covering about 300 square meters (€600,000 excluding tax),
- Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey: rehabilitation of a sheepfold into a house of food and sustainable development (€500,000 excluding tax),
- Venanson: renovation of the Bella Vista restaurant (€620,000 excluding tax),
- Villars-sur-Var: landscape and functional requalification of an existing parking lot near the old center and creation of a children’s garden (€980,000 excluding tax).
In 2022, Agence 06 will work with member communes of the Envirobat Mediterranean Sustainable Buildings (BDM) association, in favor of the development of sustainable buildings. A novelty linked to the GREEN Deal policy that the Department has been implementing since 2017.
Meanwhile, Agence 06 will pursue a policy of protecting the cultural, architectural, and rural heritage of member communes, alongside the restoration of washhouses, fountains, mills, and sheepfolds.
For Charles-Ange Ginésy: “As we can see, Agence 06 plays a valuable role in the harmonious planning and balanced development of the rural territory of Alpes-Maritimes, a role that will become even more significant in the medium and long term. It will continue to reinforce its action on the ground.”
