The Day of Escape returned to Nice at the Allianz Riviera after being absent for more than a year due to the health crisis.

Yesterday, on Wednesday, September 29, the OGC Nice stadium welcomed more than 400 children with their parents from medico-social structures in collaboration with the association “Premiers de Cordรฉe”.

Since 2014, the association, which is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year, has been offering sick and/or disabled children and their families a day of sports activities and discoveries outside of the medico-social structures. Through this day, the children can escape their medical routine and have a change of scenery.

The first “Day of Escape” was held at the Stade de France, and since then, several French stadiums host the event, such as the MMArena of Le Mans FC, the Matmut Atlantique of the Girondins de Bordeaux, and also the Allianz Riviera in Nice.

In Nice, the event is noteworthy, and several partners actively support it by sponsoring, such as The City of Nice, the Allianz Riviera, VINCI, the VINCI Foundation, and the National Museum of Sport.

Yesterday’s program included discovering and trying out more than fifteen sports and leisure activities. Supervised by qualified sports educators and more than 50 volunteers, the children were able to explore dance, badminton, football, tennis, and handball.

They then stepped into the shoes of the OGC Nice Aiglons, following the usual path of the players. They toured the Allianz Riviera backstage, walked through the tunnel to the field entrance, visited the press conference room, and checked out the locker room.
They also had the opportunity to visit the National Museum of Sport.

Finally, the children met several members of the club from the Azure region and its endowment fund, as well as Marama Vahirua, a former Nice striker from 2004 to 2007, who shared his experience with them.
