Initiated by the General Council in 1997 as an experimental project, Cap Entreprise aims to provide sustainable employment for low-skilled RMI recipients in the commercial sector.
Cap Entreprise has thus led to the hiring of a chambermaid and a waiter by the Royal Hotel.
Using the IOD method (Intervention on Supply and Demand), developed by the “TRANSFER” association, which involves an anonymous, direct, and rapid connection of a candidate with a company, bypassing the usual selection procedures (no CV or cover letter) by asking the employer to evaluate the candidate in the workplace, Cap Entreprise has become a tool to combat hiring discrimination.
IOD reintroduces rationality and objectivity in the candidate selection process. For the employer, it guarantees a perfect match between the assigned task and the person’s skills.
Initially, the Cap Entreprise initiative was only concerned with the sectors of Nice-center and Grasse, but today it covers all local integration commissions in Alpes-Maritimes.
The goals pursued include the integration of 1,000 to 1,200 beneficiaries per year and providing sustainable employment for 500 to 600 people in either fixed-term contracts of more than 6 months and more than 30 hours per week or full-time permanent contracts. To date, more than 10,000 people have benefited from the Cap Entreprise initiative, and more than 4,300 have been integrated into the job market sustainably.
The results of the Cap Entreprise Alpes-Maritimes initiative demonstrate that thanks to the IOD method, an RMI recipient without professional experience or qualifications doubles their chances of finding sustainable employment.
