On the morning of September 21st, a working meeting was held at the Departmental Administrative Center of Alpes-Maritimes (CADAM). Charles Ange Ginésy, president of the Alpes-Maritimes department, welcomed André Accary, president of the Saône-et-Loire department. It was an opportunity to present the various measures implemented by the local government.

Hervé Moreau, Deputy General Manager for Development of Alpes-Maritimes, opened the meeting by presenting the department’s agricultural policy. He began by describing the characteristics of Alpes-Maritimes. 90% of the area is rural and includes more than 1,200 agricultural operations with diverse activities, notably horticulture, which includes the rose of Antibes, cut flowers, and mimosa.

To support the department’s commitment, Hervé Moreau presented the actions of the departmental agricultural policy plan 2021-2028. Each year, this represents 4 million euros spent to achieve the objectives. The main points discussed include agricultural land, the viability of operations and sustainable practices, support for sectors, and the management of vulnerabilities.

The Alpes-Maritimes department and the Chamber of Agriculture are committed to a Territorial Food Project. A platform called “06 à table” promotes local food networks. Between 2016 and 2023, 1,342 tons of fruits and vegetables were distributed in around forty middle schools by about fifty producers. This allows middle school students in the area to have 50% local products and 25% organic in their meals.

Accompanied towards digitalization with the SMART Corner

Benjamin Mathieu, Director of Digital Services for the Department, presented the SMART Corner. This space dedicated to digital technology aims to support departmental agents in using digital services. It offers training and workshops through a range of programs that help better understand digital technology in a professional environment.

The SMART Corner, inaugurated in 2021, includes four spaces: A SMART Store and Collect, dedicated to personalized support and quick material retrieval. A SMART Room, a discovery space for digital innovations, offering workshops on engaging digital themes, a digital kiosk, and tech demonstrators to implement future uses.

A SMART Lab, a space for design, creation, and ideation around digital projects. Lastly, a SMART Class, a room equipped for training in digital tools. Fully integrated into the SMART Deal policy led by the Department, the SMART Corner has, in two years, hosted over 340 events and supported more than 1,400 departmental agents.

The SICTIAM, a vision of future technology

The director of SICTIAM, José Ammendola, presented the structure to the Saône-et-Loire delegation. This public operator of digital, energy, and telecommunications services serves 450 member local authorities. Present in seven departments, SICTIAM deploys digital solutions and also provides training to its members on managing IT tools.

SICTIAM is responsible for deploying fiber optics throughout the Alpes-Maritimes region. In 2022, 29,000 connections were deployed in the area. José Ammendola then presented the House of Artificial Intelligence (MIA) and various events that fit into the SMART Deal policy of the community, such as the IA Dates, free conferences organized by the Department on artificial intelligence and led by specialists.

The day concluded with a visit to the departmental museum of Asian arts and a presentation of the Department’s cultural policy.
