The Alpes-Maritimes Department has provided a 100,000 € aid package to the French Red Cross to assist the disaster-stricken populations of the islands of Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy.
The islands of Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy in the French West Indies have been severely impacted by Hurricane Irma, which caused catastrophic damage.
The two islands, which were directly in the path of the hurricane’s eye, have been truly devastated. Around ten deaths have been reported, along with numerous injuries.
In response to this situation, the Alpes-Maritimes Department aims to contribute concretely and promptly to actions for reconstruction, restarting public facilities, and aiding the population.
