For the 27th consecutive summer, the Alpes-Maritimes department offers a considerable selection of varied and free events that will delight any Maralpin.
Once again this year, the summer will be lively in the 06. In addition to the tourist activities that are always present during the season, our territories will be marked by a substantial summer program.
During these 4 summer months, there are more than 500 concerts, theater plays, exhibitions, shows, and readings that Maralpins can attend for free. These numerous events are categorized into 6 distinct categories: Les Soirรฉes Estivales, Les Capsules, Le Festival des Mots, Jazz Art Lympia, Les Folies des Lacs, Les Expos de lโรฉtรฉ.
This project was born from the department’s desire to “guarantee access to quality culture for everyone and everywhere in the territory” according to its President, Charles Ange Ginรฉsy.
Les Soirรฉes Estivales
Created in 1996 under the Presidency of Charles Ginesy, Les Soirรฉes Estivales constitute an example of cultural solidarity within the department and economic development for the towns in the middle and upper country. These evenings also highlight the local artistic quality with more than 90% of the artistic groups coming from the Alpes-Maritimes.
This 27th edition, which will take place from June 24 to September 10, will once again transform the 06 into an open-air performance hall where more than 1500 artists/technicians will perform across 450 different shows in 157 Maralpin towns.
Les Capsules des Soirรฉes Estivales
This is only the second edition of Les Capsules des Soirรฉes Estivales. It aims to showcase the latest musical trends of the department by highlighting local artists who will present their pieces to the audience. This year, 8 Maralpin artists (Medi, 7 Sundays, Alexandra Miller, Elissa Lauper, Thoj, Vercors, Amandine Bourgeois, David Zincke) will be in attendance.
Le Festival des Mots
From July 20 to August 19, Le Festival des Mots will make audiences travel through great texts read by renowned actors. This 2022 edition highlights adventure literature whether related to travel, emotions, or escapism.
Eight well-known actors (Michel Boujenah, Anne Parillaud, Stรฉphane Freiss, Andrรฉ Dussollier, Denis Podalydรจs, Astrid Veillon, Anne Brochet, and Gwendoline Hamon) will guide 8 narrated adventures in 8 communes (Bonson/ Cap dโAil/Le Rouret/Peille/Puget-Thรฉniers/ Saint-Martin-Vรฉsubie/Valberg/Villeneuve-Loubet).
Jazz Art Lympia
For 3 years, the Espace Culturel Lympia becomes during the summer the Jazz Art Lympia to create a true open-air Jazz club. There are 6 concerts (Jo Kaiat Trio, Penny Mac Quartet, Jazz Time Quartet, Swing and Co, Jazz ร Saint-Germain-des-prรฉs, Cyril Galamani 1 The Swinginโ Mustard) that will be held in this venue, every Thursday evening at 8 p.m., from July 21 to August 25.
Les Folies des Lacs
For the 22nd consecutive time, Les Folies des Lacs will settle on the shores of La Colmiane Lake to allow 5 artists (Afroman Radio, Jack Daniel, Blonde, Adamรฉ, Madame Monsieur) to perform amidst the magnificent landscapes of the Mercantour. These concerts in a paradise-like setting cater to both families and the youth.
