The Alpes-Maritimes Food Bank moves into the winter season.

The Food Bank of Alpes-Maritimes was created by charitable associations in July 1994. It operates with 6 employees, 110 permanent volunteers, and over 1,000 occasional volunteers, working daily to provide aid and comfort to the most disadvantaged individuals.

In 2012, it distributed over 1,400 tons of food supplies to 108 partner associations and CCAS, thus enabling meals to be provided to 21,350 beneficiaries.

Today, the Food Bank of Alpes-Maritimes is located in Nice Lingostiรจre in a warehouse of over 1,100 mยฒ equipped with racks, a double cold room for sorting and storing fresh products, as well as nearly 500 mยฒ of offices and meeting rooms for training and cooking workshops that will be set up for partner associations and their beneficiaries.

The Food Bank of Alpes-Maritimes is part of the network of 79 Banks of the French Federation of Food Banks, which collect foodstuffs for free from several supply sources, sort them, manage them, store them, and then share them with a network of associations and Communal Centers for Social Action (CCAS). Its action is based on gratuity, fighting against waste, giving, sharing, volunteering, and sponsorship.
