Nature lovers, this should interest you! Every month, the Alpes-Maritimes department organizes free “discovery walks” accompanied by guides. Here are the ones offered for the month of October.
Walk at the San Peyre National Park on October 13, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. This park, located in the town of Mandelieu-la-Napoule, offers a preserved setting and boasts a rich fauna and flora. The summit of San Peyre will provide you with a 360-degree view.
The department specifies that you need to be a “good walker” for this walk.
On October 20, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, explore the Loup in the National Park of the Loup banks, which extends over the municipalities of Cagnes-sur-Mer, Villeneuve-Loubet, and Colle-sur-Loup.
During this walk, you will follow the course of the river. Here too, the park is home to a very diverse fauna and with a bit of luck, you might even come across foxes, dormice, or kingfishers.
Hiking in the Esterel Park on October 23, from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM. During this ascent towards the Monge Rock, you will pass amidst the flaming red rocks of the Esterel massif.
A good physical condition is recommended for this hike.
Walk in the Estienne d’Orves Nature Park on October 29, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. No need to leave Nice to venture into a nature park! Come stroll among the approximately 500 olive trees in this park, including a thousand-year-old olive tree.
On October 29, the department invites you to discover the Grande Corniche Nature Park, located in the municipalities of Èze, La Trinité, La Turbie, and Villefranche-sur-Mer. From the top of the Revère fort, you can enjoy the 360-degree panorama overlooking the Alpes-Maritimes.
