The Alpes-Maritimes Trail was awarded the “Sport and Nature” trophy in the land event category at the 3rd Regional Nature Sports Meetings in L’Argentière-la-Bessée.
Held under the auspices of the Regional Directorate of Youth, Sports and Social Cohesion, the Regional Olympic and Sports Committees, the Regional Agency for the Environment, and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, the “Sport and Nature” trophy rewards the best events in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, respecting sustainable development principles.
An exemplary race in terms of environmental respect
The Alpes-Maritimes trail, along with the 10 other events of the Challenge Trail Nature 06, combines sport enjoyment and self-surpassing while reconciling respect for nature.
Thus, despite the scale of the event, the race adheres to many eco-responsible commitments: no paint markings, opening and closing of the courses by runners, meals provided with organic local products, refreshments with local products, use of spring water cans instead of bottles, no cups in the refreshment areas, race schedules adapted to public transport, waste sorting, etc.
