For this second edition, 154 young athletes, meeting the eligibility criteria set by the General Council, have been elevated to the rank of Sports Ambassadors of the Alpes-Maritimes thanks to their performances during the year 2014 and their title of Champion of France, achieved individually or as a team.
According to Eric Ciotti: “After the Alain BERNARD promotion, it is Victoria RAVVA who is the Patron of this second edition. Being one of the sport 06 Ambassadors not only means achieving remarkable sporting feats, but also adopting a moral code. These young people represent the future champions of the Côte d’Azur, a great hope for our department.”
Victoria Ravva, the patron of the event: “I am very proud to be the patron of this group of young champions. It is a great spotlight on them and a great show of admiration they will never forget.”
The General Council supports the municipalities and EPCIs for the realization of sports facilities.
Since 2009, over 40 million euros have been invested for 119 operations, including the Allianz Riviera and the Azur Arena, the new sports arena in Antibes.
The Team CG 06 London 2012: 32 athletes (23 participated in the Games; 12 reached the podium for 20 medals, including 10 gold); – The Team CG 06 Sochi 2014: 5 athletes (3 participated in the Games);
Other initiatives include: The Jean-Pierre DICK partnership: the General Council has been his partner since 2007 and will be alongside him for the Vendée Globe 2016 or L’IDISS at Don Bosco.
