Charles-Ange Ginesy, president of the Departmental Council, was hosting the athletes, sports officials, and other guests on the occasion of the ceremony celebrating the 7th edition of the event: “Happy and proud to reward the 317 Ambassadors of Sport 06 alongside Guy Stéphan, assistant coach of the French national football team and representative of our patron, Didier Deschamps.”
Bringing together so many young people in the name of sport is always a beautiful sight: among them, there are future champions, but above all, they will all benefit from this experience of sports practice by keeping beautiful memories of youth and staying imbued with the values that sport conveys, which will be precious to them in personal life.
In this context, accompanied by a festive spirit, 227 young ambassadors paraded – sometimes under the emotional gaze of their family members – to receive a small monetary reward as a token of gratification for “having won at least one title of French Champion in a discipline affiliated with a Federation approved by the Ministry in charge of sports.”
In terms of statistics, the recipients represented 36 disciplines and 19 federations.
To these young athletes, 22 top-level sailors and 5 top-level skiers from the Côte d’Azur were added, as well as the 44 international medalists.
Finally, it was the turn for the presentation of Team CD06, the athletes – some present, others excused – who will participate in the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. Numbering 31, they are recipients of financial support for their preparation and will be awarded a bonus if they make it to the podium.
A beautiful evening of friendship and sharing that deserved the appreciation of all the participants.
