The first edition of the Festival, organized in 2013 by Amnesty International, highlighted the keen interest of the public in the Alpes Maritimes for the theme of human rights and the fight against the numerous violations they endure across the world.
The second edition of the Festival “At the Heart of Human Rights” will take place until March 29 in 13 cities in Alpes Maritimes, Var, and Bouches du Rhône: screenings/debates are scheduled in the cities of Antibes, Cagnes sur Mer, Cannes, Carros, Fréjus, Grasse, Nice, Marseille, Mouans-Sartoux, Menton, Sainte-Maxime, Valbonne, and Vence.
An explicit goal is to share with as many people as possible the commitment of Amnesty International and its partners to defending human rights by using images, the power of storytelling, and the public’s interest in cinema.
Participating in this festival means meeting, discovering, sharing, exchanging, confronting otherness, and thus helping to raise awareness of human rights violations on an international scale.
High-quality films, often selected and awarded at international festivals, have been chosen for this second edition.
Participants will have access to premieres followed by discussions with directors, actors, and members of civil society involved in the numerous partner organizations.
