We request the “Right to Protest” on Sundays, September 4th and 18th, 2011, on Lenval beach in Nice from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The car bringing and taking away the equipment for the protest on the Promenade des Anglais will be a Renault Scenic 150 BXJ 06.
For over 10 years, we have been claiming 50 meters on the beach of Nice, which is less than 1% of the beach’s length, so that the people of Nice (including many elderly people and children) and tourists can swim with their pets under normal conditions of cleanliness and safety, without their lives being endangered.
Indeed, the “site” allocated by the former Mayor, in the Carras-Lanterne neighborhood, proves to be completely unsuitable, dangerous, unsupervised by lifeguards or swimming monitors, damaging to the reputation of the Cรดte d’Azur as it is dirty and made up of “rough” materials, with a sign rightly stating “Swimming at your own risk.”
Moreover, swimming at this site is contrary to the Departmental Health Regulations, as it is at the outlet of a valley, at the exit of a port, and surrounded by unstable rocks.
A complaint has also been filed in this regard for “Endangerment of Others’ Lives.”
