For a few weeks, the Saturday afternoon anti-vax protest had taken a radical turn.
The participants, rather than simply expressing their opposition to this health measure, seemed to be seeking provocation.
The recent prefectural orders, aimed at protecting certain central and commercial areas, were clearly not appreciated by the demonstrators who like to act as the “rulers” of the areas they occupy with their presence.
This weekend, the situation almost got out of hand due to the belligerent attitude of some whose goal is to create confusion in public spaces.
Fortunately, the police forces present in large numbers around Place Massรฉna were able to prevent attempts to enter the restricted perimeter without major incidents.
Once again, a minority, acting in the name of a presumed right to do whatever they please without considering others’ rights, created disorder in the city, to the detriment of honest citizens who aspire to normalcy.
