In the heart of Old Nice, just a stone’s throw from the Palais de Justice, stands the “Bar des Oiseaux.” This now-legendary place was taken over in 1961 by Noรซlle Perna’s parents.

Very quickly, it became a must-visit spot, particularly thanks to performances by their daughter, known as “Mado la niรงoise,” who skillfully imitated customers and neighbors of the bar.

At the age of 21, the young artist decided to take over her parents’ bar and transform it into a restaurant, offering small performances by artists, musicians, and comedians. It was on her own stage that Noรซlle Perna began her career.

She opened a waiting room at the bar, the “Thรฉรขtre des Oiseaux.” A real “little Olympia” of the South dedicated to comedy shows. One-man shows, comedies, this magical venue has been hosting artists of all kinds for 15 years.

The deposit of the “Bar des Oiseaux” archives is an invaluable donation for the preservation and transmission of the history of the Cรดte d’Azur capital.
