The Ariane neighborhood is indeed set to benefit from an ambitious urban requalification project, in partnership with the National Agency for Urban Renovation (ANRU). Its 12,000 residents (including 34% of youths under 19 years old) will see their living environment undergo profound changes.
The demolition of the Saint-Pierre building, which will begin next September, is the event that will undoubtedly most impact the residents of the area. This complex, built in the early 1970s by the social housing provider Cรดte d’Azur Habitat, has become too dilapidated over the years and will give way by 2012 to new constructions, public facilities, business premises, public spaces and gardens, etc. This provides an opportunity to celebrate, with joy and optimism, the transformations of the neighborhood.
Program for this free festive day:
Exhibitions retracing the history and life of the neighborhood, testimonies from residents, “interdisciplinary perspectives” through photographic reports and short films, street performances, dance and music shows, etc.
The entire urban renovation project for Ariane will also be presented to the residents.
