This Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th at the Museum of Asian Arts (exhibition in partnership with the Monaco Bonsai Club)

Bonsai is an art, a personal discipline, a philosophy based on the pursuit of harmony between humans and nature. The art of “Bon-sai,” which literally means “planted in a pot,” originated in China before being developed in Japan under the influence of Zen Buddhism, and then conquering Europe at the end of the 19th century. This art is now practiced on all continents and across all latitudes.

Enthusiasts attest that cultivating a tree in a pot requires constant attention. Indeed, one must guide the tree, observe its evolution in nature at length to find its “style”โ€”straight, twisted, leaningโ€”and thus achieve the desired shapes, often very spectacular.
