In the context of the call for projects focusing on accessibility to healthcare for people with disabilities, launched by the Malakoff Médéric Handicap Foundation last June, the Autism Resource Center (CRA) was awarded on January 26th for the creation of the CLEAS software, designed to facilitate healthcare access for individuals with autism.

Since its establishment in 2013, the Malakoff Médéric Handicap Foundation has been undertaking actions dedicated to healthcare access and employment for people with disabilities. In June 2015, the Foundation launched its first call for projects on the theme of healthcare access and health for people with disabilities.

The distance from healthcare facilities, unsuitable monitoring tools, and limited financial resources are some of the challenges that lead people with disabilities to forego healthcare. Through this call, 268 applications from various health and disability stakeholders were collected, among which was the Autism Resource Center’s project, awarded on January 26th at the Lenval Foundation in Nice.

The Compagnon Logiciel d’Entraînement Aux Soins (CLEAS), developed by the CRA, is an intelligent software designed to assist individuals with autism throughout their healthcare journey. Based on a clear, touch-friendly interface, the software serves as a daily healthcare companion on a tablet. It relies on the “say/show/do” practice commonly used in the autism community.
