“The awareness campaign for eco-friendly tourist actions declares, ‘We will always thank you.'”

As the summer attendance is expected to be very positive, the Cรดte d’Azur France Regional Tourism Committee (CRT) has announced the launch of its partnership campaign to raise awareness of eco-friendly tourist practices to preserve the natural resources of the Cรดte d’Azur.

The launch of this awareness campaign on preserving natural resources is particularly significant in the current context. It is part of a dynamic tourism recovery, where summer attendance is expected to surpass that of the previous year and be more evenly distributed across all months. In June, the hotel occupancy rate is nearing 80%, a level comparable to 2022 and 2019. For July and August, an average occupancy of around 85% is expected.

Thus, as the summer vacations approach, the CRT Cรดte d’Azur France, in partnership with the Alpes Maritimes Department, UMIH 06 (Union of Hotel Trades and Industries of the Alpes Maritimes), and the National Union of Tourist Residences, has launched a large-scale campaign to promote eco-friendly tourist practices. This initiative aims to encourage French and foreign tourists to adopt responsible practices to protect the environment.

This campaign, which covers more than 650 tourist establishments on the Cรดte d’Azur, offers a complete communication kit entitled “Eco-gestes Cรดte d’Azur France.” Available in two languages, this kit was developed in collaboration with campaign partners and is available to all hotels and tourist residences in the region. Participating establishments are invited to educate their guests about eco-friendly practices through various communication actions.

Under the slogan “We will always say thank you,” this campaign highlights five easy and effective eco-friendly practices to adopt:

– Water is precious, I don’t let it run unnecessarily.
– A quick shower is four times more economical than a bath.
– A towel can be used multiple times, I keep it!
– The air conditioning doesnโ€™t like excess, I donโ€™t set it below 20ยฐ.
– An empty room doesn’t need light, I turn it off when leaving.

To ensure effective distribution of the campaign’s good practices, several supports have been developed. First, a practical “door hanger” was designed to be placed on the handles of hotel rooms and apartments. Moreover, an informative leaflet is available at the reception of establishments or inside rooms and apartments. To reach a broader audience, various visual formats have also been specifically created for the establishments’ websites and social networks. Additionally, videos have been produced to be broadcast on digital screens and televisions in common areas, reception halls, or inside rooms and apartments.
