The Château Festival is organized on Château Hill by the Communists of Alpes-Maritimes since the post-war period. This festival is now established as the major political, festive, and popular event of the department at the beginning of summer.
Cécile Dumas, departmental secretary of the PCF, invites everyone for great moments of solidarity, debates, fraternity, and conviviality.
For her: “This 2014 festival concludes a long electoral sequence that saw the political landscape of the department and the country significantly shift to the right, and a Valls government that completely forgot its remaining leftist values.
The “red thread” of this 2014 festival will indeed be the reconstruction of the Left. The communists will use this occasion to call on all those who want to resist, act, and debate, to work on a Left project for our country, a call for the construction of a Popular Front, a People’s Front to rebuild the Left.
Two days where meetings, politics, culture, concerts, and local specialties intertwine, two days of fraternity and conviviality.
Every year, this festival is the great political, festive, and popular meeting of the early summer, made possible by the mobilization of hundreds of volunteers.
As every year, this festival will bring together all those who never give up, who fight and want to build a more just, more solidary, more fraternal society.
In these times of political and economic stagnation, the Château Festival is an opportunity for activists and supporters to replenish their hope, debates, meetings, and enthusiasm.
