On Wednesday, February 26, the City of Nice organized a unique show on the French Riviera: The sumptuous parade of Luminéoles. Offered by the “Porté par le Vent” Company, this free event began at Place Masséna and gently stretched along the Water Mirror on the Promenade du Paillon.
Featuring stilt walkers and light structures, “The Ball of Luminéoles” is a show that reveals its beauty only when the sun hides its own.
Thus, 30 meters above the water mirror, majestic kites illuminated by LEDs rose to bring color to the so dark night.
Between the water jets, three stilt walkers: Two angels and a flower with precious sparkles. With their graceful wings, they wandered and took the spectator on a dreamy journey. Then, they took place on the water blade inviting the Luminéoles, large birds of light with changing colors, to join them.
These immense chimeras, looking like fish, rose to the sky beginning a majestic ballet.
On the ground, pilots manipulating these structures moved on the water blade to luminous water lilies and began an aerial ballet with stilt characters, plunging the spectator into contemplation and poetry.
