All the communities face the same environmental challenges: quality of bathing water, management of macro-waste, preservation of marine biodiversityโ€ฆ The Bay Contract aims to bring together all the actors of coastal life to restore optimal quality of waters and aquatic environments. Their approach is on the scale of the Bay of Angels.

10 coastal municipalities are united by this contract: Antibes, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Cap dโ€™Ail, Eze, Nice, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Villeneuve-Loubet

The associated catchment areas are: Les Paillons (river contract), Basse Vallรฉe du Var and Cagne (river contract), Loup (Global Development Scheme), Brague (Active Resource Management Program).

Following the completion of an assessment, the stakeholders gathered around the following objectives: maintain and improve the quality of the marine environment, protect and enhance the natural heritage, develop and organize uses in a balanced and environmentally respectful way, implement the Bay Contract in close collaboration with ongoing or planned management initiatives on coastal rivers, and collectively ensure work on communication and environmental awareness.

Nearly 100 projects have been proposed with about thirty associated project managers for a total of 172 million euros.
