The Beaulieu Cinema is celebrating its 1st anniversary.
Let us recall the challenge that the cinema’s new team had set for themselves: to make this new theater a screen of diversity by blending mainstream films, art-house, children’s films, repertory films, and provide a warm welcome that encourages discussions about cinema.
The report of this first year, with nearly 19,000 spectators, proves that the public is charmed by the programming choices, which in 16 or 18 screenings allow 4 to 6 new films per week to be shown in the canton.
The audience, which already includes many regulars—evidenced by the sale of more than 500 subscription cards—continues to grow. Yes, word of mouth is still spreading.
Nearby schools and the college are also regularly welcomed as part of the national cinema education programs. The Opera, Concert & Ballet screenings are also a great success (between 90 and 110 spectators per show).
Encounters with filmmakers, Music & Cinema Cycles with cine-concerts, Retrospectives of Great masters of cinema with conferences, Animation cinema festival with little snack times, have all been opportunities to share the joy of being a spectator.
