The major retail chains, commerce, and online retail have agreed, this Friday, November 20, to postpone the “Black Friday” scheduled for November 27 by a week, so it would take place on Friday, December 4.
This decision, which Amazon France had already agreed to, was made “subject to the reopening of stores by then,” the parties announced in a joint statement with the Ministry of Economy, led by Bruno Le Maire.
For professionals, this delay in Black Friday represents a logistical and economic challenge since they have already communicated about this promotional event to their customers and arranged their supplies accordingly.
A decision on the reopening date of stores, widely demanded by professionals a month before Christmas, is expected to be announced soon by the executive.
With the improvement of health indicators, the government is considering it “around December 1,” Prime Minister Jean Castex indicated on Friday.
Besides the postponement of “Black Friday” and the continued decrease in infections, this reopening is also conditional on the approval by health authorities of a strict health protocol in stores.
