The iconic blue chairs are making a grand return in Nice… After almost a month of absence, the people of Nice can once again enjoy breaks on the Promenade to admire the seafront.
It smells like deconfinement! The city hall of Nice had removed the legendary blue chairs from the Promenade des Anglais on November 12th. The removal of these symbols of Nice aimed to curb the spread of Covid-19.
In fact, this gesture was pointless since people are sitting on the iron barrier that separates the roadway of the Promenade from the beach below.
But in these confusing times, political decision-makers are eager to demonstrate the originality of their thinking.
For now, only a few chairs have been reinstalled. We’ll have to wait a little longer to see all 450 chairs back on the Promenade des Anglais.
