Three bodies were found in the area where our three French climbers had disappeared in Nepal on October 26th.
This morning, three bodies were found “approximately in the same area where the searches were being conducted,” declared Rishi Raj Dhakal, inspector and spokesperson for the Solukhumbu district office.
Although French rescue teams were dispatched last Friday to find the bodies of the three climbers, Rishi Raj Dhakal specified that the three bodies were reportedly found by local mountain guides.
“The professional rescue team transported the bodies of the three missing French climbers to Lukla [southeast Nepal],” he added. Thus, the bodies were able to be identified, confirming they were indeed those of Gabriel Miloche, Louis Pachoud, and the Nice resident Thomas Arfi.
As a reminder, the three climbers, members of the National Climbing Excellence Group (Gean), had been missing since last October 26th in Nepal while attempting to ascend the west face of Mingbo Eiger, one of the Himalayan peaks.
