The Book Festival at Home in the Albert 1st Garden

Latest News

The Nice Book Festival, having returned last year to its historic location at Jardin Albert 1er, has found its true self again after losing part of its soul at Cours Saleya.

This weekend, under a beautiful sun, one could stroll through the garden aisles from stands to debate venues, passing by the terrace of the small cafรฉ set up for the occasion.

For the author, it was the baptism by fire for the first signings of Maria and the music kiosk, an opportunity to see “literary” friends and discuss their new productions (notably an intriguing and exciting Emmanuel Kant: A Life in Kรถnigsberg by my friend Roger Aรฏm), and to rub shoulders with stars (having Douglas Kennedy as a signing neighbor is good for the ego!).

And, as often happens in Nice, it was also an opportunity for a delightful encounter: in this case, Tsvia Walden Peres, the daughter of Shimon Peres, with whom I was able to discuss my meeting with her father in the late 1980s.

So a big bravo to the organizers from a satisfied author; we eagerly anticipate what’s next.
