The “boost” from Rotary District 1730 to support the regional economy

Latest News

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, one of the challenges for Rotary International is to mitigate the impact of the global economic recession.

Building on Rotary International’s initiative in favor of businesses, Rotary District 1730โ€”which notably aims to support the new generations of entrepreneurs in the regions of the Alpes-Maritimes, Var, Corsica, and the Principality of Monaco in their developmentโ€”has set up a community crisis cell led by a broad range of experts, both Rotarians and non-Rotarians.

Supporting the safeguarding plans of various regional, national, and international structures, District 1730 of Rotary International has decided to launch a large-scale support operation for the regional entrepreneurial fabric, thus responding to its primary service vocation which aims to preserve, stimulate, and develop employment, excellence, and economic growth.

The “Helping Hand” operation materializes in personalized supportive advice remotely

Registered on the platform www.coupdepouce.rotary1730.org, these business management experts are offering their working hours voluntarily during this period to address the technical or managerial issues of regional decision-makers, independents, merchants, and artisans in difficulty, according to their areas of expertise.

Alarming projections

According to the report published by COFACE economists, business failures are expected to increase by 15% in the third quarter. The most affected and threatened sectors of bankruptcy are accommodation and food services, transport equipment manufacturing, and construction.
