The city of Nice and its Communal Center for Social Action (C.C.A.S) have the mission to conduct monitoring and prevention actions regarding heatwaves for the population.
In this context, six seasonal workers have been recruited by the city for the months of July and August to conduct prevention efforts in the parks, city gardens, at Phoenix Park, and along the waterfront.
They are tasked with raising awareness among the population (particularly vulnerable groups like young children, seniors, and those without stable housing) about what to do in case of extreme heat (drink plenty of water, cool down regularly, avoid intense outdoor activities, avoid going out during the hottest periods, etc.) and fostering social connection, especially with elderly individuals and disadvantaged groups.
