By the end of summer 2007, the 350 bus shelters in the Nice Ligne d’Azur network will be replaced with new furniture, specifically designed for the CANCA.
A contemporary design for an internationally influential agglomeration
The styling of the new bus shelters has been entrusted to Philippe Cox (a globally recognized Australian designer). The challenge of this design was to imagine and create custom-made furniture, designed both for perfect integration into the Nice environment and for impeccable service quality.
The furniture is currently being changed by area, according to the following schedule:
– April 2007: Promenade and Nice West areas,
– May 2007: Areas of the Port of Nice, Eastern Dedicated Site, and Cimiez,
– June 2007: North and Paillon areas,
– July 2007: Western Dedicated Site area.
The old furniture will be fully revalued through recycling channels.
The change of bus shelters in Nice is a preview of the arrival of future abritrams, which, to maintain public equipment homogeneity, will undoubtedly bear a family resemblance.
