jpg_P1014544.jpg“Attention, your CAF service center is temporarily closed. Reopening on October 31.” This is the notice you can read in front of the service centers of the Family Allowance Fund (CAF). Since September 24, the seven sites in the Alpes-Maritimes have not been welcoming users due to work overload.

On Friday, the Secretary of State for Family Affairs, Nadine Morano, visiting the department for the UMP parliamentary days in Antibes, took the opportunity to meet with the establishment’s management and social partners. “I wanted to come because it is a real crisis situation, for 1 year, the Alpes Maritimes branch has been without a director, there is a real problem of social dialogue. I have asked the new director (editor’s note: Jacques De Peretti, who arrived on July 1st) to do everything possible to reopen as soon as possible. In a week, half, that is 30,000 files, have already been processed. And the staff have committed to maintaining their efforts.”

The 200 people assigned to file processing should, within two weeks, by “making an effort in overtime, quickly reduce the backlog of accumulated files.” Initially planned for October 31, the service centers are expected to reopen by October 15.

“Mrs. Morano’s visit reassures me because the CAF carries out missions for the community, notably the RMI on behalf of the General Council, and if she hadn’t come, we probably would have taken away its management,” declared the President of the General Council, Christian Estrosi.
