The candidate registration statements must be filed for each election round by the candidate, their substitute, or by a representative carrying a mandate established by the candidate for this purpose, at the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture, elections office, (7th floor) Prefecture building – departmental administrative center – Grenoble road in Nice, on the following dates and times:
– For the 1st round of voting:
from Monday, August 17, 2009, to Friday, August 21, 2009, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
– For the 2nd round of voting:
from Monday, September 7, to Tuesday, September 8, 2009, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Every depositor must prove their identity. The conditions for candidacy and eligibility are identical to those of the general cantonal elections of March 9 and 16, 2008.
All voters in the 6th canton of Nice, registered on the electoral lists finalized on February 28, 2009, as well as those who reached the age of eighteen between February 28, 2009, and September 5, 2009, and are automatically registered, are eligible to vote.
To vote by proxy, in case of an impediment specified under current regulations, voters must approach the district court, police station, or gendarmerie brigade within the jurisdiction of their place of residence or work.
