The carnival village at a standstill this Saturday

Latest News

As the carnival has taken over the azure capital for a week, part of the festivities will be halted due to demonstrations.

Indeed, the Carnival village, set up at Square Leclerc on the Paillon promenade, will be closed all day on Saturday, February 19, in anticipation of an overflow from the anti-health pass protest that could jeopardize the safety of workers and users.

This is bad news for the carnival organization, which had just announced it had increased its spectator capacity from 5,000 to 7,000. Nevertheless, this closure is only temporary, and the carnival village will reopen the next day, on Sunday, February 20. Now we’ll have to see if this closure will happen again next weekend.
