Through the Regional Territorial Balance Contracts (CRET), the Region funds structuring and decisive projects in the fields of development, energy transition, economic development, and mobility.
Concluded with Intercommunalities, the CRET align locally identified needs with the priorities of regional action. They enable territories to become increasingly accessible and to effectively address the issues of circulation, development, and facilities, raised by the dynamism of Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur.
After the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, CASA is the first regional intercommunality to approve this new-generation contract with the Region, which provides for support amounting to โฌ16.5 million for more than โฌ200 million of investments in the CASA territory. This regional participation in CASA’s projects will give them an additional and entirely beneficial boost.
Four categories of projects are covered by this Regional Territorial Balance Contract (CRET):
โข Developments and facilities (โฌ10.6 million)
โข Energy and ecological transition (โฌ130,000)
โข Economic development and employment (โฌ4.25 million)
โข Mobility (โฌ1.5 million)
Notable projects include the nautical stadium or the conservatory of Antibes, but above all, the future Business Pรดle 2.0, a major upcoming facility at the Sophia Antipolis technology park.
The creation of this facility, comprising over 12,000 mยฒ of space dedicated to businesses, was recently approved by the Community Council. CASA’s approach to economic development and its policy of supporting innovation facilitated the immediate allocation of โฌ4 million from the Region. With the Business Pรดle 2.0, the technology park will have all the tools of the innovation chain, from pre-incubation to acceleration, through the business incubator, business hotel, showroom, prototyping workshops, etc.
For reference, over 3,000 net jobs per year have been created in Sophia-Antipolis over the last 3 years.
Mobility projects are not forgotten, as the Region also reaffirms its support for the bus tram project that is to connect Antibes to the technology park before 2020.
Lastly, the creation of housing, which is one of CASA’s priorities, will be supported by the Region with an allocation of โฌ3 million as part of this CRET.
