Following two weekends of Mediterranean storms in March, numerous landslides occurred in the Alpes-Maritimes. The Caucade cemetery was forced to close. The storms caused significant damage, such as tree collapses and damage to around fifty graves…
For safety reasons, the cemetery was compelled to close. Consequently, the cemetery hired a contractor, supported by the city of Nice, to restore the site. So far, 82 trees have been treated, and 56 have been felled. “The services of the City of Nice and the contracted companies continue to inspect each tree before considering reopening to the public,” responded the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi.
