The cavalry of the Republican Guard in the Departmental Natural Parks of the coastline

Latest News

This Saturday, August 24th, at the Vaugrenier Departmental Natural Park, Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, will present the activity report of the cavalry detachment of the Republican Guard responsible for public safety within the Departmental Natural Parks along the coast.

Initiated for the first time in 2011, this partnership between the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes and the Republican Guard has proven to be highly effective. In 2012, this security operation helped curb the phenomenon of prostitution, reduced vehicle break-ins and incidents of incivility in the Departmental Natural Parks.

Perfectly adapted to natural environments, these men, mounted on their horses, carry out missions of prevention and repression of environmental offenses, crime prevention, as well as informing the public and preventive surveillance of the forest massif against fire risks.

This cavalry regiment has been, throughout the summer, supporting the natural park rangers, comprising 21 agents present in the 15 parks currently open to the public.
