Successful season start for Cavigal handball. Traveling to Lyon, the Nice team won decisively (36-32) and regained the lead in the championship.
Promoted this year to National 1, Cavigal handball continues its rebuilding. And all we can say is that it’s going pretty well. The Nice team secured their third victory in as many championship matches tonight. Against AS Lyon, who also aim for promotion, Cavigal showed no mercy.
The game was balanced in the first half. The two teams traded blow for blow. It wasn’t until the end of the first half that Nice managed to pull away. Driven by an outstanding Alexis Bon (6 goals), Cavigal led by four goals at the break (16-20).
In the second half, the Nice team resumed with vigor, extending their lead to eight goals. Inspired by Florian Graglia (9 goals) and Baptiste Berettoni (6 goals), Nice was never troubled. The team from the Alpes-Maritimes won (32-36) and took the lead in the championship with nine points.
