Tyne Manassero moved thousands of people with the “live” sessions of the CDOS06 every day since the lockdown.

The lockdown had something positive in terms of approaching the Covid-19 pandemic in the best way possible, with some rather delightful initiatives around engaging in physical activity. Many confined citizens felt the urge to participate in physical activity at home.

There were numerous initiatives, but the one organized by the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee (CDOS) with its “Live” sessions on the CDOS 06 Facebook page achieved exceptional success.

The president of CDOS 06, Philippe Manassero, quickly took the initiative with the help of his wife Tyne, a jazz dance teacher, to create connections through accessible physical activity for everyone.

Every morning from her garden, the dance teacher from St Laurent du Var brought joy to life despite the stress of being confined, with a muscle strengthening class for the neighbors of her residence on Corniche Fleurie.

The success was almost immediate. From neighbors to internet users, it went viral. 52 sessions were conducted, with followers becoming hooked, garnering almost 70,000 views on the CDOS 06 page.

The message from the CNOSF to transition from a nation of athletes to a sporting nation finds its full meaning with this initiative. Three months away from her retirement, Tyne Manassero showed that the lockdown and isolation could trigger a spark in individuals to enjoy and work on their health.

This Sunday, there will be emotion at the end of the last session, but the CDOS will put Tyne’s sessions online on their website so that more people can continue to participate and then enroll in a sports club to maintain their fitness.
